I would like to comment on the article "Another Letter on Oil Supply". This article is of high quality and is treating something that will punch the world in the next several decades. The proof of this thesis is exactly in the investments in shale and sand. It can mean that the oil companies know something that we, the ordinary people, probably do not know - that the traditional crude oil reserves are nearing the end.
Because the alternative energy sources (excluding the gas) are not sufficient to satisfy the enormous need for energy in the world (which could only increase in the future) I think that the future of the energy supply lies in "chastening the hydrogen bomb" by the way of so-called Tokamak. As far as I know, four countries - USA, Russian Federation, Japan and Germany are joining their forces in developing the technology that will use the thermofusion to produce controlled heat. Currently the energy to produce one million degrees celsius necessary to initiate the thermonuclear fusion is equal to the energy gains from this process. The expectation is that this technology will be developed in the next ten years up to the stage when the energy gain will be larger then the energy needed to initiate the fusion. Until then, let us hope that the world will have enough energy, including the crude oil, to satisfy its needs.
