Another Letter on the FairTax

Another Letter on the FairTax

By , About.com Guide

Here ia one reader's response to "FairTax - Income Taxes vs. Sales Taxes".

In relation to tax reform there should be no input from anyone who does not vote, is not a citizen, or has a vested interest in the current tax code. The ignorance and apathy in this country is disgusting. The FairTax Plan is not only the best form of taxation for this country but for the citizens also. It is, in essence, also what our founding fathers intended.

Our current tax code and the cries for income redistribution are leading this country on a direct path to socialism. We are not far from it! We as a nation, will not be able to compete in the ever growing global economy with this current tax code. People must be allowed to take home their entire paycheck. Then pay taxes as THEY see fit. We must broaden the tax base by having every single person who sets foot on our soil pay into the tax system. The FairTax is the only plan that does this. It is ludicris to talk about tax reform only in relation to current taxpayers.
