Mr. Moffat,

It is quite apparent that you have never got a chance to read The FairTax Book by Neal Boortz and Rep. John Linder. I'll get you a copy if you need one. I think that is the only way we'll be able to debate the attributes and weakpoints rationally. In a nutshell, this national consumption tax approach would broaden the tax base, induce natural progressiveness, lower prices, and strengthen the dollar in the world economy. And the Monthly Family Prebate will effectively untax ALL citizens up to poverty-level spending. Does this interest you in the least? If so, just let me know and I'll have a copy right off to you.

I was disappointed in your article about the FairTax. You should look at www.fairtax.org for some correct information.

I watched the attached video and enjoyed it. I wanted to share it with YOU. Feel free to pass it along if you want.

I am writing in regards to a recent column by Mr. Mike Moffat regarding:The proposal known as the FairTax.

I will not here critize his motives for writing the piece but he seems to be a doctoral candidate who needs to be published in order to join "the club". Hr has spent too much time at the pub and now needs to make a name in short order.

His lack of knowledge of the subject is appalling and is almost as poor a choice as his assumptions.

The Fairtax is even more progressive than the current income tax which helps the poor more than any other group. The Fairtax totally untaxes the poor and seniors who currently pay the hidden income tax in all purchases or goods and services.

The rate of 23% is an inclusive rate in the same manner as the current income tax.

I would like him to show how the currect income tax even can be exclusive because it cannot.

There is so much more but perhaps you get my point

Anyone commenting on the Fairtax whether pro or con needs to educate themselves first. I am vehemently a pro supporter of Fairtax. It is more fair, hence the name. Everyone would have to pay taxes, tourists, drug dealers, prostitutes, muggers, etc. Every business has a tax liability. When they're tax liability is GONE then the cost of they're products goes down. I don't think the work of several prestigious universities which all were favorable for the Fairtax once the details and case situations were conclusive. Read the Fairtax book by John Linder and Neal Boortz. If anyone is in favor of our current system over the Fairtax system, please, please, PLEASE move to Canada.

This is the ONLY way to go.

Read the details for yourself at http://www.fairtax.org.

Go to the FAQ section.

Dear Mike,

After reading some of your article on the FairTax, I could not help but think that you are a lobbyist from "K" Street.

I did not see where you mentioned the prebate and where the cost of goods manufactured in the USA would go down because of the elimination of the embedded corp. tax and the huge IRS compliance costs.

---

Mike have you read the book?

Have you read the Open Letter to Congress and the President from all those economnist?

Think about it.....a world with no IRS, no EZ forms, no keeping recieipts.

Do the old Ben Franklin decision making program. One lists of positives and one of negatives. I believe when to weight it out the Pro Fair Tax points will far outweight the Negatives. It may not be perfect but it is sooooo much better than what we have.

Come on help us spread the word. America needs this.

In your discussion of the Fair Tax (H.R.25/S25, you seem to assume the the Customs service would be abolished.). I believe Customs would operate as they do now to limit the amount of goods that were brought into the country untaxed. Even though they might not stop 100% of untaxed goods from entering the county, I believe it would be a better system than the current one where a lot of lobbying money will buy a loophole for select groups.

Thanks for taking time to read my opinion.
