Power Distribution

By

Definition: The power distribution is a continuous distribution with a parameter that we will denote k.

Pdf is kxk-1. Mean is k/(k+1). Variance is k/[(1+k)2(2+k)].

The power distribution has not been found to correspond to natural or economic phenomena, but is useful in practice problems because it is algebraically tractable.
