The Slope of the Demand Curve
Giffen Goods
In economics, the law of demand tells us that, all else being equal, the quantity demanded of a good decreases as the price of that good increases. In other words, the law of demand tells us that price and quantity demanded move in opposite directions and, as a result, demand curves slope downward. Must this always be the case, or is it possible for a good to have an upward-sloping demand curve?
