Canadian Economy - Data

PACIFIC Exchange Rate Service - A terrific place to get exchange rate data for many different countries. It also allows you to save the data in many different formats, including Microsoft Excel.

Demographics

Statistics Canada - Data is broken down by province and by municipality. Includes a lot of useful household data, including percentage of low income households and average earnings.

Macroeconomic Data

Canadian Economy Online - A government of Canada site with data on macroeconomic indicators such as Real GDP, Inflation, and Unemployment.

Department of Finance - Economy in Brief - Site is more of a quarterly review of the state of the Canadian economy than a source of Canadian economy data. A useful site if you want the general picture.

Statistics Canada - Canadian Economic Accounts - Good source for balance of trade/terms of trade data.

Microeconomic Data

Industry Canada - Micro-Economic Monitor - Includes data on "recent developments in output, incomes, consumer expenditures, investment, residential and non-residential construction, housing, personal debt and savings rates, corporate profits, federal budgetary balances, unit labour costs, current account and trade balances, capacity utilization, labour markets, prices, and financial markets."
