Q. Why do you occasionally put extra u's into words?

A. Because I was born and raised in Canada. I'm still a Canadian citizen, despite living in Rochester, NY. I still haven't entirely gotten used to American spelling conventions. Plus I still speak in a Canadian accent, so people tend to chuckle when I say the words "about" or "couch".
