I hope now you are advance enough to proceed to into the graduate study of Economics 301. I have read your bio and see that you are in the process of getting your Doctoral degree. Obviously, from your prior comments you need more insight to basic economics so I will volunteer to give you the true insight.
I am willing to volunteer my valuable time ( a true economic benefit-considering that I am married and have two children that this letter is taking time from) to show you the true economic path of discovery. (Maybe, I do this because my bio has the some initials after it. I tell you this now,not to impress you but to refocus your energy on the true path of economic prosperity for all American citizens)
ECONOMIC GROWTH is not produced by GOVERNMENT---
Sorry for such a shock--you being from Canada were socialization is becoming the norm.
As an economists, I pray you realize that government generated constraints----(no matter what the intentions are for the program) cause LIMITED economic growth. This is why most Canadian's seek medical treatment in the US.
THAT LEADS TO THE DOCTORAL QUESTION----I HOPE YOU ARE SEEKING
In a free society--- which is a better system?
A system that promotes class envy and special treatment to particular individual or methods?
A system that equates each class the same by offering one rate to each beyond the poverty level.?
Remember you are evaluating the current income base tax system to Fairtax alternative tax system on the economic growth of the nation. YOU should support your conclusion by tracing the history of the United States from our founding fathers to current impasse for President Bush tax cut.
Now to help you in your research which obvious you need (remember keep an open mind) go to www.fairtax.org. Also, go to the CATO institute and look for Steve Moore articles on taxation which is Libertarian so you don't have to reference with a dominate political party.
Also, look at your pay stub. Explain, to everyone why in a free society that you are not allowed to take home all of what you earn?
Remember in a free society -government should not dictate where YOUR MONEY is spent on..
Furthermore, Explain why government should have EVERY worker ENSLAVED by confiscation of wages from January through April of each year ?
