Americans for Fair Taxation (AFFT) had 500,000 members yesterday. The American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF) voted to make the FairTax a priority issue. AFFT has 5,500,000 members with the addition of AFBF. The FairTax is H. R. 25 in the House and S. 1493 in the Senate. It has 43 congressmen signed on and two senators. More will come aboard when Congress resumes. FairTax volunteers have been meeting with legislators over the Christmas break. We wanted to know if they had any questions or concerns about the FairTax. We met with them to answer their questions and meet their concerns. The FairTax is a National Retail Sales Tax. It collects the same amount of money as our current system. It will not raise prices of goods or services as it is about equal to the cost of complying with our current tax system. The cost of complying with our current tax system is hidden in the prices of everything we consume and is 22%. The FairTax is 23%. The FairTax allows you to take home your gross pay and collect a monthly rebate. The rebate covers the cost of the FairTax on
poverty level spending. The Department of Health and Human Services determines poverty levels for the nation as it has for decades. The rebate is calculated by multiplying the poverty level by the FairTax percentage. It is then divided by 12 to determine monthly rebates. The rebate is sent to all legitimate American households the first of every month. Those required to fill out tax forms sell new goods or services to consumers. Used goods will not be taxed nor will business-to-business transactions. Give your family a 50% raise, visit
