Austin Head-Jones is a third year undergraduate at Brown University. She wrote her Moffatt contest entry while studying the demographic and economic effects of China's birth-planning policy with Bates College in a fall semester abroad. Now that she is back at Brown, Austin will continue to study the changes in China's dynamic economy, which is currently America's closest overseas exporting rival and seems destined for further success. Austin has never run a marathon, nor does she plan to.
