Definition of Order Statistic

From

Definition: The first order statistic of a random sample is the smallest element of the sample. The second order statistic is the second smallest. And the nth order statistic in a sample of size n is the largest element. The pdf of the order statistics can be derived from the pdf from which the random sample was drawn. (Econterms)
