Definition of Noise Trader

Definition: In models of asset trading, a noise trader is one who doesn't have any special information but trades for exogenous reasons; e.g., to raise cash.

Such trades make a market liquid for other traders; that is, they give a given trader someone to exchange with. (Econterms)
