In general, economists agree that legal immigration were enabled for highly-educated foreign workers would be beneficial for the average US citizen. That's easy enough to say in the abstract, but how do economists feel when the foreign workers are competing with the economists directly?

Greg Mankiw argues that economists do in fact welcome the foreign competition, and are better off for it.
