Part of the difficulty in balancing a government's budget may be political, but the reality of the matter is that, given the current fiscal shortfall (i.e. deficit) that the U.S. is experiencing, balancing the budget is simply not an easy task. If you don't believe me, you can try your hand at correcting the 2015 and 2030 budget shortfalls and see what happens. If nothing else, you'll get some insight into where your tax dollars go.

Thanks Jodi for the enlightenment. Truly balancing a national budget can ethic however, some expenses can be minimized or avoided for those spent on war that needed not be fought etc. Thanks
a national budget can never be balanced because budget surplus is what is always expected from any budget and we all know that assumptions are not reality. is economics not based on assumptions?
Ithink public finance is aheaache for all governments round the world so such issue is important to think about , but the nature of the problem differ from acountry and so the way to manage the revenues & expenditures
