Will I Lose $300 This Month?

Thursday May 1, 2008
This is the week of truth. For the seven days between May 1 and May 7, I need to have an average body fat percentage of under 18.23%. If I fail, I must pay $100 each to the source of choice as chosen by the following three economics blogs: I think I will make it, thanks to a very strong first-half of the month, but time will tell. I have been coasting for the last two weeks, which has me worried for May. Have I plateaued?

It’s very possible you have plateaued if you are still drinking 1/2 your body weight in ounces of water daily, exercising as you were (or more) than the first 2 weeks, and maintaining whatever dietary guidelines you are following.

Our bodies get efficient when we keep doing something and that includes efficient at energy usage.

To shake it up when you’re on a plateau, you need to do something different and pretty drastic. I would have carb “binges” while on a low-carb diet, and that would do it. It might not work for you. I’d suggest adding a gallon of water a day if you’re not already drinking 96 oz a day or more. If you are, add 6 more hours of exercise in your week - 2 more in 3 different days. If you’re not following guidance on getting your heart into cardio before working out with weights, start doing that. Use interval training (up your heart rate, then lower it while continuing to work out, continue repeating this for the length of your workout), or even just change the kind of workout that you do (that can do wonders).

Otherwise, you’ll be paying out $300 at the end of the week if you have more than 2 pounds to go to reduce that %.

Good luck!!

Diane
